In the neighbouring Dübendorf, we recently embarked on a culinary food photography photo-odyssey at VIETDURA Fusion Kitchen & Cocktails, a very special Thai restaurant that not only tantalizes the taste buds but also champions an exceptional and hard-to-find sustainable and environment-friendly concept.
Sourcing Goodness: From Sourcing to serving, the Vietdura Way
Vietdura’s commitment to sustainability begins at the roots. The restaurant sources its ingredients meticulously, weaving a narrative from local farms (when possible, of course, cocos and Thai specialities might sometimes be impossible to source locally) and ethically-minded suppliers. Winter in Switzerland often means less available light, but for our photo shoot, we brought our own sunshine. Utilizing artificial light, we aimed not only to compensate for the winter gloom but also to accentuate the vibrant colors and inherent gorgeousness of Vietdura’s culinary creations. The result? Images that not only capture the essence of the dishes but also tell a visual story of their own.
A Food Photography Marathon: From Shoot to Friendship
The 4.5-hour photoshoot was no small feat, but the dedication of the Vietdura team made it an absolute joy. The staff’s friendliness and helpfulness created an environment where creativity flourished. It wasn’t just a shoot; it was a culinary marathon where every dish told a story, and every image became a testament to Vietdura’s commitment to excellence.
